Term 1 Week 2

Working Together

This week our unit of inquiry has this central idea:

We all mature throughout life and need to take care of ourselves as we change.

We inquired into the social aspects of growing up and changing. The books we read helped us understand how important it is to have good relationships. We talked a lot about teamwork and that was the focus of our personal and social education this week. 

We have been working hard on teamwork. We cooperated in nearly everything, such as P.E, reading, playing, writing, house teams and other class activities. We were so happy that we worked together with our friends because we love them and we want to help them as much as possible.

For P.E, we cooperated in sports games so that we could win and make it easier for us to get to the point that we wanted be in.

 We did a lot of public speaking this week and it was related to our unit of inquiry:

Assembly 

 Basically, we are happy that we have each other, and we will always work together! We Are A Team. The books we read on friendship and working together gave us ideas for this assembly.

Our number work this week was about place value, we have stared the Year 7 curriculum, and so we are looking at numbers up to ten digits. We applied some practical mathematics by measuring ourselves and beginning a height chart. This will be updated monthly. We are going to continue collecting data, analysing it and presenting it in various graphical ways.


Next week, we are going to start our puberty lessons. Please have a look at the agreements below.

Please sign the hard copy of this and bring it to school on Monday.  Please also bring a new notebook which we can put our puberty notes in.
