Term 1 Week 1

Welcome to Year 7

Meet the team:

Cynthia Thomas
Euaaungkoon (Golf) Chaipuripokawin
Charlotte (Charlie) Ramsey
I, Cynthia, am pleased to continue as the homeroom teacher for this class. As you know, I am from England where I completed my teacher training. I have spent the main part of my teaching career in international schools. Of all the places I’ve been to I certainly feel most at home in Thailand.

We are delighted to have Mr. Golf continuing to work with our class this year. His enthusiasm for supporting  student learning, his knowledge of the Primary Years Programme and his exceptional bilingual skills are a great bonus to our team.

Ms. Charlie will be teaching Year 7 Mathematics and is the new Learning Support Coordinator. She comes to us from Yorkshire in England where she trained as a teacher. This is the first time she has been to Thailand and she is very excited to work with our class.

On the first day we’ll spend some time discussing some of the exciting things that we are going to be doing in Year 7. There is the camp, several field trips and lots of opportunities to exercise some independence in learning.

This year everyone is asked to bring a laptop computer to school every day. This is going to open up many new learning experiences. Please be sure that yours is charged and ready for the first day of school.

Here is our timetable:

Our homework routine this year will be an ongoing reflective journal. Every day students will be asked to think back over what they have learned, practice it and think about how they might extend their own learning.

Please consider being our Year 7 parent representative. This will be explained further at our upcoming meeting for Year 7 parents on Thursday 22 August, 3-4pm.

As always, please keep in touch via email. Otherwise, for quick questions call in and talk to me. For topics that need longer discussion please arrange an appointment to meet us.

Kind regards,

Cynthia, Golf and Charlie
